Knight Area was founded in 2004 by Dutch keyboard player Gerben Klazinga. After several successful releases on the American label Laser's Edge and performances in leading progressive rock venues and festivals world wide and working with Delain lead singer Charlotte Wessels and Ayreon mastermind Arjen Lucassen, the band found a steady line-up with guitarist Mark Bogert and bassist Peter Vink (ex-Q65, Finch, Ayreon). With these newcomers the band received a heavier, fuller sound, which can be clearly heard on further releases, including new studio album 'Heaven and Beyond'.

The album is produced by Knight Area, mixed by Joost van den Broek (After Forever, Epica, Star One) and mastered by Peter Brussee (Herman Brood, IQ, Ayreon). With ‘Heaven and Beyond’ Knight Area found a good balance between a more temporary sound and the original sound of the older albums. You can find both symphonic songs and harder edged Neo-Prog tracks with perfectly balanced guitars and keys.
